• The Motherland: A Visual Poem

    The Motherland is an original poem written by Amanda Manassah. The short film serves as a visual aid for the 3 part poem: melanin, coconut oil, and roots. The Motherland celebrates black women, self-love, body positivity, and African culture. The short film blends a variety of African languages, tribes, and dances. Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Sudan, and Somalia are the African countries that are depicted in the film.
